Our Favorite Instagram Accounts for Design Inspiration
/When working on a home project, our Chicago interior designers pull inspiration from a number of sources found all around us in our everyday lives. From nature to art to fashion, the impact of culture and society on our designs is profound. While social media isn’t perfect, one of our favorite places to find accessible inspiration is Instagram. It has made finding and sharing interior design inspiration very easy and for that, we have to give it credit.
We have several channels that we follow religiously, and wanted to share those with you today. While some are interior design Instagram accounts, some are by artists in other industries – from 3D art to floristry. All art forms are connected and we love using ideas outside the industry standards to bring our creative spaces to life.
Paul Milinski @paulmilinski
The owner of Milinski Studio, Paul Milinski is a digital artist known for producing incredible still images of dreamy spaces. While his projects remain in the digital sphere, they challenge the constructs of modern architecture, furniture, and design. We love seeing his fantastical imagery pop up on our feed every day. His play with the limits of physics and reality inspires us to think outside the box in our own designs.
Berg Interior @berg.interior
Much like our designs, those of Berg Interior are filled with color, art, and luxe accents that make up their sophisticated signature style. We enjoy following their account, where they share a portfolio of stunning residential interiors. Whether it's a contemporary living room with warm neutral tones, floor-to-ceiling draperies, and a statement chandelier, or a salmon and turquoise bathroom with unique tiling, they bring a special quality to every room they design.
Kelly Wearstler @kellywearstler
Known for her west coast maximalist style, Kelly Wearstler is an iconic designer with a large portfolio of sophisticated, modern interiors. Her projects range from luxury residences to hotels, all of which showcase bold colors, eclectic materials, a play on proportions and captivating textures. On her Instagram, you’ll find her portfolio of projects, plus the things that inspire her daily, from flowers to her family. Like us, Kelly is also passionate about incorporating artwork into every one of her designs.
Pulp Design Studios @pulpdesigns
Another interior design firm we can’t get enough of is Pulp Design Studios. First of all, we love that the company is women-led. Co-founders Carolina V. Gentry and Beth Dotolo are two very talented designers who transform ordinary spaces into artistic visions. Known for using statement wall and ceiling treatments, they are experts at making a room feel serene and surreal at the same time. We love their use of texture and are inspired by their bold approach to layering art and standout accent pieces.
Fleur Inc @fleurinc
Finally, we are inspired by flowers! Fleur is one of our favorite accounts because they take floristry to the next level with over-the-top bouquets and hanging fixtures. Their use of color and ability to make a table or room feel magical is what our dreams are made of. They also operate a home and lifestyle shop in Chicago, where they sell flowers as well as home goods.
If you’re looking to spruce up your home decor, we highly recommend turning to social media for some design inspiration before starting your project. Whether it’s discovering new trends or finding an interesting item to add to your home, having a reliable source of inspiration can help you get the most out of your design process.
