This one's becoming popular day by day. Kids love cool and different ideas that represent who they are. Ask your child to do graffiti art on a specific wall within their room. The art can be of their own choice, e.g., graphics of their favorite superheroes, or you can add graffiti inspiration artwork too. It looks stylish, and your child will love it.

Chalk Wall

Having a chalk Wall in your child's room is a genius idea. First of all, it will to some extent, eliminate the problem of kids writing and coloring on walls as now they'll have a specific place to do all that. Second, it will give freedom to the kids. A chalkboard will look great as a backdrop, too, giving your kids’ room an edgy look.

Swing Seat

Building a house is actually the beginning of creating a home. Apart from the obvious, your interior home decor plays a crucial role in making your home scenic, serene, and sublime.

Choose a Soothing Color Combination

We cannot stress enough how vital the color palette is. The first thing you need to do is to pick shades that fit your overall theme and furniture. Moreover, there are gradients and different textures available that add up to the overall ambiance of your home.

Hence, spend time picking the colors as they will make or break the situation.

Ideal Lighting Takes Home Decor One Level Up

Serene living room ideas are incomplete without the planning to install steady, adequate lights. No matter how pretty your color combination is or your furniture, it ruins everything else if a room has improper lighting.

Therefore, you need to install good lighting to make your rooms look glamorous.

Keeping The Layout Spacious - Space is Serene!

Serenity is directly associated with the functional space your interior home decor has. No one likes to live in an overcrowded home where every room is bustling with furniture. Therefore, you need to be cautious to keep the layout spaced out.

Relaxing home decorating ideas are incomplete without spacious rooms that allow you to loosen up from your busy lives.

Select The Best Interior Designers

Like you hire professionals to build your house, you need to hire designers to make your interior design spot on. People believe that they can formulate the perfect themes themselves. However, it is near impossible to get everything perfect without expert guidance.

As it is a one-time investment, you need to ensure that the designers you opt for are worth every penny.

The Takeaway

In order to devise a breathtaking interior design, you need to cater to a plethora of different variables. If you keep all the parameters in mind while choosing serene home decor and designs, your home will be nothing short of perfect.

7 Design Mistakes You're Probably Making in Your Small Bathroom

The bathroom design has a massive influence on how we think (shower singers know and agree). Here are seven design mistakes that we should all avoid in a small bathroom.

Ignoring the Area of Accessories

The position of accessories such as towel rails and storage will impact how the area functions. So, first, decide where the accessories will go so that there are sufficient secure fixing places.

Robe hooks or towel rails near the shower will be convenient when leaving the shower, not to mention a dry floor.

Neglecting the Shower

You have many ways to make the shower more fun, even if your bathroom is tiny. If you need the ideal one, go with a shower-over-bath style, is the now favorite choice for a small bathroom.

Overlooking the Mirrors-Function

People frequently link a small bathroom with even smaller mirrors, which is one of the most common design mistakes. Yet, a large mirror can give the impression of a larger space. A big mirror’s light reflections will also brighten the darkest of places.

Rough Lighting

Overhead lighting is one of the terrible design mistakes and less attractive light sources. Instead of relying on natural light, which may be uneven and often lacking in a small bathroom, LED lights can help you get ready to intervene in the day.

 Over-Burden Vanity

Use a basic tray to collect things like hand soap and skincare products to make your vanity seem more practical.

Focusing on Useless Décor

Don't spend valuable square footage on beautiful items that aren't functional. As with any small room, you must maximize everything that has a place in the room. However, this does not indicate that you must avoid lovely stuff.

Master Bedroom Suite Ideas

Almost all people like to spend more of their time in the bedroom than in any other area in the house.

The reason is apparent! You sleep in the bedroom for an average of eight hours. Then, before you go to bed, you probably read and watch TV. This suggests you stay up to 10 to 12 hours per day in the bedroom.

So, you try to do it all possible to make this a place you love. For the perfect convenience, productivity, and pleasure, here are five fantastic master bedroom suite ideas:

Choose an Attractive Color Scheme

If you're like most people, you began your childhood with whatever furnishings your parents pick out for you.

But, at this point, you may be pickier about the selections. If that's the situation, start by deciding on the colors in your master bedroom suite. Then, determine whether you want a darker or lighter color scheme.

This color scheme includes bedsheets, pillow covers and comforters, furniture colors, and paint colors.

Consider Paneling

Paneling is a detail that may genuinely make your master bedroom suite stand out. As a result, people are moving away from classic wallpaper and paints toward paneling.

Best of all, you can pick paneling that complements your design style. This will help you to achieve the entire look you want.

Design a Sitting Area

Consider adding a sitting area to your master bedroom suite for a beautiful look. This is a section of your bedroom with a sofa, table, recliner, or other pieces that resembles a mini living room.

This sitting area may be a space where you can read before going to bed without disturbing your companion.

Light It Up!

Lighting is among the most critical yet the most ignored things of any master bedroom suite. Not just to select eye-catching fixtures, but you also want the room well-lit. So search for dimmer switches to let you turn on a definite quantity of lights to adjust the vibe.

Try Going Big!

We'd like to end with a significant concept. What we advise is that you should purchase larger-sized furnishings:

●     Choose the king bedding.

●     Pick a massive dresser with a big mirror.

●     Select large curtains that are visually stunning and conceal your space even on the brightest days.

How Color Impacts a Room

Color can be effective in transmitting information nonverbally, establishing moods, or even influencing people's actions. Given that the psychological impacts of color alone influence 90% of hasty judgments.

It is critical to understand what colors mean and what reactions they can evoke. You can then select the look you wish to exhibit in your room interior design to achieve your desired result.

Psychology of Room Colors

Color psychology influences how we feel and look at our environment. From the outfits we wear to the colors in the room interior design affects the mood. In addition, the colors in a room interior design can influence your creativity and humor.

Warm Colors

Warmer colors, as the name implies, make us feel warmer. These colors in a room interior design bring positive energy to a room. Yellow, red, and orange are examples of the best interior design warm colors.

Yellow is a color that is widely chosen by interior designers to create a sense of pleasure. However, red and orange have a way of stimulating our minds and encouraging us to be active.

As a result, warm colors work best in locations where there is a lot of activity and socializing. Such as home gyms, living rooms, and kitchens.

Cool Colors

Cool colors tend to make living rooms feel more comfortable. Blue, green, and purple are common examples of cool colors in room interior design. Blues and greens have calming effects. That makes them suitable for areas relating to rest, such as bedrooms.

Neutral Colors

Neutral colors depersonalize attributes without losing all sense of style and aesthetics. White, black, grey, and beige are examples of neutral colors.

Grey and beige may both give warmth to a room’s interior design. However, be cautious about how you employ the color black. Black should be used rarely, especially as an accent color in your décor.

The particular tints, tones, and colors within the paint and décor ultimately determine how color affects the mood of a room.

Conclusion

Whatever colors you choose for your interior design, each is unique in its way. Color can create whatever mood you like and can affect both your home and emotions.

Difference Between Custom and Retail Window Treatments. Why Should We Invest in Custom?

Your house reflects your personality. You decorate your home in your style. You spend money on designing and furnishing your home to make it comfortable and appealing. But how often do you pay attention to your window treatments?

Window treatments modify your windows to make them aesthetically pleasing and control the exposure of UV rays and sunlight and help preserve your furniture and floors.

Difference Between Custom and Retail Window Treatments

You can easily buy window treatments from markets and find various ready-made curtains, rods, and hooks for hanging them. Although retail window treatments are cost-effective, they are available in a few designs and colors.

But there is a better option than retail window treatments for you to consider. Custom window treatments offer you a wide range of variety. You have the choice to design in your way.

Why Should We Invest in Custom Window Treatment?

Custom Window treatments have many benefits that you need to consider when planning your next purchase:

1.   Precise Measurements

There are no standard sizes windows, then why limit yourself to ready-made window treatments when you can customize your own.

When purchasing from a retail shop, you are stuck with the limited stock that they have. But a custom window treatment will help you get the precise measurements for your windows.

2.   Customized Color Scheme

When purchasing ready-made treatments, you do not have a variety of colors for your windows. Custom window treatments help you to choose the desired color scheme to match your home decorations.

3.   Choice of Fabric and Materials

Going for custom treatments means that you have access to a variety of different fabrics and materials. In retail treatments, you will end up buying from limited stock, and the fabric can turn out to be of low quality.

4. Hardware

Custom window treatments call for custom hardware. A perfect fit to your windows; your draperies will open and close very easy. Those come in numerous colors, finishes with plenty finials to choose from.

It is better to go for custom window treatments when looking for the good stuff, a customized color scheme, and precise measurements. There is no second opinion as to windows play a major role in interior designing.

They make the house prettier and act as protection from sunlight and UV rays, and for this, you need professional treatment!

Everything You Need to Know About Wallpaper

Interior Design by Paula Interiors

Interior Design by Paula Interiors

Interior decor has been subject to a myriad of changes over the past few years. From peasantry natural themes to dull, rustic paints, we have seen all types of trends. Moreover, in 2021, people are getting smarter, and they are opting for solutions that are out of the ordinary. Yes! We are talking about wallpaper. Since it was first introduced back in the day, it has ruled the interior designing industry.

Is Wallpaper Installation Better Than Painting Your Walls?

Painting is a traditional method, while wallpaper installation is a fairly contemporary one. Therefore, people who want to have a modern ambiance in their homes prefer to use wallpaper.

Unlike paints, it is easy to peel off, meaning you can easily change the wallpaper as per your liking.

Furthermore, there are little to no limitations when it comes to aesthetic wallpaper designs. As it is printed, the detailed finesse on the designs is unparalleled!

What’s it Made Out of?

When it comes to hanging wallpaper, there are plenty of materials it can be crafted from. However, a few types of material are used traditionally due to their long life and sharp color presentation.

Vinyl is by far the most prevalent material wallpapers are made out of. It is waterproof and stain-proof, making it ideal for damp locations. Several types of paper are also popular among some wallpaper manufacturers.

Moreover, a fairly recent type of fabric is being used to make wallpaper. Manufacturers have built it to last long and keep the color contrasts the same throughout the years.

Common Wallpaper Types

Based on the method of application, there are three major types of aesthetic wallpaper. They are:

●      Glued - has its adhesive

●      Non-glued -  no adhesive

●      Peel-off - Just peel off the back covering and paste it on your wall.

 The Bottom Line

Whether you are a person who frequently changes their interior design or keeps a permanent theme for years, wallpaper is ideal for you. They have dramatically changed the interior decor game altogether.

From installing wallpaper to changing or removing it, everything is reasonably straightforward. Therefore, people who want to revamp their home decor opt for the best material recommended by the best designers in the business.

Large Intimate Spaces

Paula Interiors Project

Paula Interiors Project

Are you having trouble decorating a large space in your home? Does your office space feel too big?  Try these pro-tips.

You moved into a new house, and it is vast. You have never decorated a large space like this before and are at your wit’s end about how to make it feel like home.  A large space can feel too open or cold and can be a decorating challenge. Don’t worry; here are some pro-tips to make these spaces feel more intimate.

1)   Use Visual Dividers

Visual Dividers can be a great way to cut a large space in half, so it seems smaller, cozier, and more intimate. For example, if you have a massive living room; strategically position a large sofa or table to separate areas in the room.

2)   Wall Design

Wall design is an excellent way to create spatial illusions. All you need is to follow simple hacks. The first hack is to color your walls a darker color. Lighter, warmer colors tend to open up space while darker colors close it off more.

The second hack is to decorate your walls with photos, art, wall hangings, banners, and tapestries.

The décor will give a homey, intimate sensation and will close off the large space. Remember to avoid mirrors, however, because they reflect light and open up interior spaces.

3)   Furniture Spacing

When you need to reduce the size of a space, you need to be smart about furniture. Do not shove all of your sofas, tables, and cabinets up against a wall. Instead, spread them out across the room.

Select large furniture pieces like family sofa sets. When you float them around the room, they will define their own sections and cut off space into more intimate zones.

Statement pieces like ottomans, chests, and carpets will splice a large space into tinier zones and make it seem your own.

Indoor plants can bring life to a dull space with vibrant colors--but you knew that. What you don’t know are the best tips to decorate with indoor plants.

Try these out:

1)   Mix It Up

It’s always a good idea to mix and match plants around the house. You can have plant corners with tall, medium-heighted, and small plants. Potted plants on shelves can complement a tall Norfolk Island pine in the corner. The Instagram-trendy Monsteradeliciosa can work well in with potted plants or on its own.

Varying varieties of plants can go well with each other. You can get more traditional species like Dracaena, Spider plants, Ficus, and Lady Palm.

Mix these with citrus plants, vines, and succulents around your living room. Hanging baskets of ferns and orchids over kitchen islands or tables can make a great statement.

2)   Pick a Container

Plants are nothing without their containers. An ornamental planter can be just as beautiful a statement piece as a carpet. So choose your container widely and weigh your options.

Among these options are boxes, racks, shelves, pots, and wall-mounted pots. Jars and boxes can be placed around the room and near windows. If you go for racks or wall-mounts, consider grouping multiple plants together in pots and planters.

Clustering on racks can bring more life to the space. However, if you are grouping plants, make sure to group them in odd numbers for greater effect.

3)   Keep Them Healthy

There are three crucial things plants need to survive: nutrients, light, and water. Make sure to water them as required. Each plant has its own needs but usually indoor plants only need to be watered every one to three weeks. Make sure to also keep plants in well-lit rooms.

If you see staggered growth or yellowing leaves in your plants, they need nutrients like nitrogen or potassium.

You can have hundreds of plants around your house but not one will look great if they don’t receive proper care. Take stock of these tips and your plants will thrive and liven up any space in your house.

We’re expecting fresh ideas, fearless colors and textures, unexpected materials, and broad trends for the 2021. This article rounds them up with some insights and reasons they’re replacing other design styles in this year. Some uniqueness and elegance, some of these 2021 décor trends are the ones you should know to transform your spaces.

Indoor Gardening

From the early ’70s, a plant to style your place is the go-to décor. They bring color and vibrancy to the ambiance and always look beautiful, not foregoing the benefits they offer. They also help provide a fresh atmosphere by releasing oxygen.

Contemporary with some MCM

Traditionalism not only incorporates classic art and antiques but it also brings a positive vibe and works perfectly with a décor scheme.

This look works best for homes that already have some features, such as paneled walls and exposed beams. To transform a space with some Mid Century Modern and modern contemporary, you can balance both the newly done work and old art and antiques, as they blend in perfectly.

Distant Shores

We're all longing for this in 2021, isn't that so? All things considered, the laid-back way of life of Hawaii has been rethought in this next trend. As we long for tropical escapes, the lounge rooms enlivened by distant shores offer a quiet and loosened up living space, making a home feel protected and a welcoming spot to revive. It adds a contemporary edge to an exemplary Floral Design.

Earthy Shades

Shades of earthiness and grounded hues will become the new normal. This color palette, with a rustic feel and a mid-modern visual, is built around nature that is immersed in its own world. An earthy color palette is packed with deep hues, some warm green hues, rusts, and slubby browns to elevate lounge comfort. It’s a welcoming trend on its own, exactly what we need.

Sustainably chic

The perfect blend of good design and soothing fabrics, this trend is for those who are spiritually connected and balanced by a commitment to sustainability. Colors and textures have a trace of art with warm tones going to the front. The New palette includes earthy orange, soft olive golden beige and moss green.

How to create an interior design budget

Paula Interiors project

Paula Interiors project

Creating a budget for an interior design project can get you to establish a good plan you can live with, before considering all design elements. To ensure your interior design project matches all your expectations, you should carefully create a budget before you start.

A budget is how much you are willing and able to spend on a project. It also has to categorize everything according to your project’s requirements. You should select the areas according to your project, that way you can properly and effectively use your budget.

Set a Budget Limit

Screen Shot 2019-07-30 at 3.27.00 PM.png

You should make a proper list and determine the amount you are willing to spend on each category. For example, if your project is to renovate the swimming pool area, you would be spending more on the tilling rather than lighting. Once you have done all the costing you should sum them up and add up roughly 10 to 12 percent if any unexpected expenses appear.

Keep a check/balance on expenses

Paula Interiors project

Paula Interiors project

To make sure everything is going according to the plan, you should closely monitor all the purchases. You should make sure that the purchases and expenses are done according to your budget. If you somehow overspend or under spend on a particular product, you should have it adjusted to stay balanced. If you are working with an interior designer she/he will be doing this for you.

Understanding the timeline

You need to understand and tend to the timeline, and make sure you assess all possible criteria. When the project should be done? How long the process will be? How should you break down the time and the tasks? What should be done first? Keep in mind that the process and timeline is changeable, and there could be both delays and quick fixes. You can ask your designer for guidance; they can give you estimates on time but remember that things can change; however, the designer will give you updates on the project and will set up the expectations accordingly.

Understanding the process

You should be careful about the budget and be sure about the use of budget you’re expecting from your interior designer for maximum results. If you are not aware of your budget, it is very important to let the designer know. If you have a proper idea of the budget, the designer and you will both know what to expect from the project and you can also confirm the level of design.

2020 revealed to us that our Kitchens do more for us than we ever could – the soul of the house, more than our go-to eateries, café. We transitioned from making our classic Dalgona coffees to Banana Breads, in the same comfort space and with more life.

Giving the Kitchen a makeover, with focus on an open-concept house, should become an obsessive idea by now. Clean and minimal trends do the talk, homeowners want functionality, and anything timeless is a key to a perfect backdrop for our souls.

Too many people are remodeling Kitchens, and practical designs are dominating the mood boards of Interior Designers. With the New Year, the overall look and function of your Kitchen space will follow these trends.

Storage Stock Up

Less built-in cabinets and more open wall shelving – instead of going for larger layouts, we will see a shift in more open planned designs. Kitchens will follow more organic, mixed textures and materials for a comforting and inviting feel in the house. Pan racks will be certainly popular, and more investments in butcher blocks – functionality and practicality is sure to surge.

Nature-immersed

If anything in the past months, spending the most indoors, our want for nature escalated. We are predicting, but really just envisioning a more nature-immersed Kitchen designs for the New Year. Natural stones and patina woods, materials of the nature are soon to evoke a sense of belonging in our Kitchens. We are excited to see 2021 adding a sense of soul in our spaces, and comfort in our lives.

Wall to Wall

Our Kitchens are home to too many pantry items and gadgets – less storage issues and more wall-to-wall storage designs will rule. We are anticipating Kitchen walls with top-to-bottom cabinets, all in the same color.

Hidden Appliances

The aesthetics of integrated Kitchen appliances and gadgets is now being noticed, and more concealment options are going to dominate. We are envisioning spaces that will create a sleek finish with hidden appliances to avoid cluttered counters and dishevelled look of the Kitchen.

Conclusion

A lot of different trends are frequently introduced for the upkeep of Kitchens, and the design elements vary greatly. You can elevate the overall look by redesigning the Kitchen space with new ideas.

To set a space in the house, no matter the size, ideation and creations go way beyond just mood boards. Details matter for a cozy living room, and when you pour some heart into your home designing process, it becomes your personal creative outlet.

You can include design elements and cozy tweaks and touches to make your living room inviting and snuggly. Built-ins, windows, feature walls, when decorated with textures and textiles make a space look put together – a mid-century living room demands the very outlet.

The Need for a Palette

Starting with a color palette is key. Choose a scheme from the dominant pattern in the living room, any art piece can help you pluck a color scheme. Pluck colors from the formal areas and tone them down, decorating the space from dark to light. The rule is to divide your colors in a 60, 30, 10 percentage to balance colors properly.

Adding Textures, Colors, Cozy Textiles

It doesn’t need telling but adding textures and textiles help create a vintage and mid-modernspace, elevating the mood and interest. Layer different fabric types, choose an inviting color palette using main fabric colors. Add textures in moderation, and make it a focal point in the room if the space lacks architectural features.

Furniture Picks

Picking furniture responsibly is key – you have to decide how a piece can really ground a space, how it’s adding texture to the room. A wooden furniture piece with patina, velvet chairs, anything that adds personality to your living room.

Architectural Spacing

If the living room is small, opt for a dark color instead of whites and greys. People paint white walls to make the rooms seem bigger, but for a cozy space a small room, leverage the darks to wrap you up.

Conclusion

Designing a space may seem a daunting task, but your creative ideations and careful picks will make the process fun and easy. If you plan beforehand, you’ll find it easier to make room for more design elements. The key is to follow moderation and be responsible before you finalise anything at all.

Refresh Your Interiors According to Your Personality Traits

Interior Design by Paula Interiors

A subtle guide portrays crucial differences between extrovert and introvert home designing styles.

I won’t discuss typical MBTI personality types but rather shift to a more general introvert and extrovert personality combination. For ages, both are thought to stand far off on opposite poles. However, both types hold evident similarities in their tastes. Dark and dull, intense, and null contrasts are fundamental to bring about a change.

Calming neutrals with light colors couples well with introverts

‘Immaculate Garden and theatrical waterfalls are how they show love to nature.’

Blue and gray are, without a doubt, a perfect color combination and mood lifters for our introvert mates.  Light colors, geometric wallpapers complemented by gold hardware, and wooden furniture are a few of the premium choices they own from the very core of their hearts. The navy vanity is all set to pull a gross, glowy look altogether.

‘Chandelier obsession is their life.’

Bright and sharp decors are liked most by our extroverts.

‘A sneak peek into a new mansion of an extrovert champ.’

Being bolder with interiors takes time. It’s not just a story of overnight.  Introducing a bright color to the room is always not easy. Yeah, but extroverts are bold enough to take such a stance. Introduce more brilliant themes to ravel your confidence up to where there's no limit. The color schemes are usually based on navies, black and oranges to give darker looks to escape. Additional accentuation with yellow and brass pulls off its nostalgic vibes and pushes into a charismatic feel.

‘Follow passion with fashion is what bold aim for.’
